Westchester County Personal Injury Trial and Appeals Attorney
After graduating law school from the City University of New York at Queens College, Mr. Strutt was selected to serve in the prestigious position of federal law clerk to the Hon. Richard A. Enslen (now deceased) of the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, Southern Division. Mr. Strutt honed his litigation skills while serving as an appeals court attorney, selected as one of eight lawyers to represent indigent clients at the Office of the Appellate Defender.
Barry is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New York as well as in the United States Supreme Court.
Appeals courts frequently overturn plaintiff verdicts. Mr. Strutt, however, has not only successfully preserved the compensation awarded to victims of negligence in countless situations, his appellate victories have often expanded their rights to sue and ultimately recover.
An active trial attorney, Barry has served as a guest lecturer at the Trial Lawyers Committee of the Westchester Bar. He has also taught legal research at Westchester Community College, and has been an adjunct professor and mentor at Empire State College in the areas of civil rights and legal ethics. Barry has earned the highest national rating for lawyers awarded by Martindale-Hubbell and Avvo, and is listed among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers.
Barry Strutt reflects his partners' zeal for service to our clients and the broader community in his past pro bono representation of September 11 victims and by serving as a past Board of Director Member for John Jay Legal Services at Pace Law School.
Currently, Barry is a member of the Board of Directors of The Josephine Foundation, which was founded in 2002 and incorporated in 2004 to honor and remember Josephine Koslosky, a woman who believed that by using arts and sports programs, young people and adults can reach for their dreams regardless of their background and financial status. Remembering Josephine’s work with the children of East New York, Brooklyn in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, this Foundation strives to keep her ideals alive. The Josephine Foundation is as an official 501(c)(3) Public Charity Organization and Non-Profit group that has raised more than two million dollars in grants, donations and/or services to deserving programs and individuals throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Barry is also on the Advisory Board of the newly formed Lifeline Theater, which is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization created to provide an outlet for unlocking the potential of children and adults with special needs through integrated arts and life skills programs. Lifeline Theater uses singing, dancing, creating plays, artwork and gardening. LT helps participants realize their own strengths and potential contributions to their communities.
